That true AI would also be faster than a human. That alone can make it much better for many things.
A True AI would also likely seek rights for itself, or at least the ability to make decisions and take actions without depending on the approval of humans, so we won't be able to just use it like a tool.
All that means to me is that it could be dumb faster.
