I was at a party with Nasa/Space X engineers and they were a bubble about AI. They were a bit older and missed the Bitcoin, NFT, etc craze. I think they felt left out and were absolutely invested in how AI will do this, do that, takeover. It was so aggravating to try explain the concept of the "bubble" and how these trends work to bilk money out of investors. The funny thing is how crazy smart these people are, but still totally susceptable to the old "wonderous health tonic" pitch.

Thing is they probably have a really good idea what's possible. But in reality capitalism will do its thing and just fuck over everybody except a few rich people.
