I knew a guy in animal control that said whenever he gets a call about a cat stuck in trees he asks them how many cat skeletons they've ever seen in trees before.
Not super relevant just made me think of that.
Oh he had zero problems getting down. He kind of parkour’ed his way down.
*purrkour'ed
(sorry)
I stand corrected. Have a wonderful evening wherever you are. That was great.
Skeletal cats famously have trouble holding on to branches.
Too busy counting the dead cats on the ground at the base of the tree.
It’s not the starving that gets em, it’s the landing
How many have you counted?
I've had a cat die of starvation in a tree.
I've also had a friend's cat get killed by an arborist that offered to climb up and help them down.
First thought: Oh shit! That's terrible, poor thing. :( Second thought: Haha arborist must be ripped to be taking out sedans.
Ah hahaha my bad. It is funny as a car instead of a cat.
I’m thinking that if a cat can’t hit a landing then they should kind of have their cat card revoked. Survival of the fittest, you know?
Yeah, that's the way it works, but no-one wants to have their favourite kitty discarded for the betterment of the species.
I found one of my cats dead in the middle of a split in a tree. Turns out something chased him up a tree, and he stayed up there until he got too tired, fell down and broke his back. It was a really sad way for 10 year old me to find out my cat died.
Your story made me think of my own story where my cat got stuck down a tree because we used to live in an apartment on the 4th floor and he'd hang out on the patio, but the little shit figured out he could hop over to the giant evergreen next to us and walk down the branch and down the tree, only problem is he was heavy and the branch lowered when he climbed on it, so he could not get back up to the patio. Thankfully found him downstairs after a few hours confused af.
This was many years ago now and I have since learned all the dangers of kitties exploring outside and our cats do not get unsupervised time outside anymore.
In/on a tree? If they did die they'd fall off so I'd assume essentially never. By a tree? Well, I've never seen any.
