Had an itch for an open world game and ended up buying Hogwarts Legacy on sale on PC.

Pretty good, well made, decently well polished, great voice acting, has quite a bit of fun stuff if you were ever a HP fan as a kid, combat's fun, story's decent enough, but it really isn't an RPG, it's more of an open world action game and the quest pacing is odd. Also doesn't run well on my aged 7700k/gtx 1080 rig, but I have a new one that I'm putting together by the end of the week, so I put a pause on the game for now.

Just feels like I'm overpowered for everything even on Hard past the first couple hours and the main quest level requirement is always like 10 levels below my level. Also the in game "gps/showing a path where to go on the map" feature straight up sucks in this one.

The dialog system is a bit of a dud, so don't expect any flexibility in playing a deceptive Slytherin bad guy with ambiguous morals or passing charisma checks, it's all very 2 dimensional., But even with all these flaws, it's a solid one of these and it's fun to fly around Hogwarts on a broom and find what will eventually be Hagrid's hut.

I'm probably halfway in with 20ish hours in and so far it's like a 7/10.

I immediately turned off the minimap when first starting playing HL, to kind of force myself to learn the layout of the school, and it really paid off. I wanted to take my time with that game so it was a great feeling to find all the different ways to get somewhere. They really did justice to it
