Yea and the fact that the guy that is in charge came out and said yea all these movies don't matter in the universe anymore and for a lot of people (me included) that extended universe is the cool and important part so why would I go see it. Also super hero movies have become very cookie cutter boring recently.

I read that blue beetle is the first movie in the new DCU.

It's not. The James Gunn led projects don't start until 2025.

Blue Beetle and Aquaman are the last of the old DCEU.
