Only as dead as Reddit? Reddit is still a fresh corpse while Twitter has only a few decaying bones left.
Unfortunately it still has a critical mass user base, like reddit, so still here to stay until Elon really fucks up again.
Like you can try to use Mastodon or Blue sky but all the accounts I've wanted to follow are just people posting a few times with zero interactions, and then going back to Twitter.
At least they tried. The YouTube creators I used to follow on Twitter only kept complaining about the changes on Twitter but never cared to try anything else. That was until Threads came out. It's as if they want to live in a corporate shithole...
Corporate shitholes have the most people, which means more views, which means more money. They’re actively encouraged to stay off smaller platforms since it’s not as an effective use of their time.
The Fediverse just hasn’t hit critical mass yet.
