Your right it was to be expected and both sides think that.

That being said there is still such a thing as objective reality and saying illegal immigrants entering the country is as much an abjugation of the constitution as convincing your followers to (poorly) storm the capital to try to violently overturn the results of an election is pretty fucking weak sauce.

Then again maybe objective reality is well and truly dead and perception is reality now, who knows.
