It's been two days since I originally posted the final name poll, votes have stopped coming in, and the winner is Kibby!

So, everyone, meet Kibby! Crafted by the community. He is ours! ❀︎

In celebration, I have created a script that changes the default/no avatar (blank) into a randomly selected variant of Kibby! And there are tons, about 25 and more to come.. Thanks for the idea, @sab!

Here is how the script looks in action (sorry for imgur's shit quality lol)

I'd like to say thank you so much to everyone who has given me their time, feedback, insight, and ideas which helped me, together with you all, develop Kibby further into his wonderful finalized version. Especially thank you to @FixedFun who's original design and idea kickstarted this entire process. This was super fun, and I am really happy with how he turned out, and I hope you all are too.

I provided svg and png both with and without gradient, a clean the Adobe Illustrator file, and all of the current Kibby variants!

There are tons of open source licenses (like Creative Commons)out there you could use.

For fun, I asked ChatGPT for help. It suggests a copyright license as well as a usage license. It even gave me an example if you want to use it.

Kibby Character License and Usage Policy

  1. Copyright License

The original artwork for the character "Kibby", created for use within the kbin software and servers (collectively, the "Services"), is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License ("CC BY 4.0").

Under the terms of the CC BY 4.0, you are free to share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material) for any purpose, even commercially, provided you adhere to the following terms:

    • Attribution β€” You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
  2. Usage Policy

In addition to the terms of the CC BY 4.0, we have established a Usage Policy for Kibby:

    • You may use Kibby for the purpose of identifying, discussing, or representing the Services, including on kbin software and servers.

    • You may not use Kibby in a way that is harmful, deceptive, or in any way that may cause confusion or misrepresentation of your relationship with the Services.

    • You may not use Kibby in a way that suggests endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation with the Services unless explicit permission has been granted.

    • Any modification or remix of Kibby must respect the integrity and reputation of the Services, and cannot be used to spread hate speech, discrimination, or any form of illegal activity.

    • This Usage Policy may be updated from time to time, and you agree to abide by the most recent version of this policy.

  3. Trademark Rights

If applicable, all rights to the trademark of Kibby are expressly reserved. Any unauthorized uses of Kibby that constitutes trademark infringement may be challenged by the rights holder. Trademark law varies by jurisdiction, and the rights holder may seek to enforce their rights under the laws of any applicable jurisdiction.

By using Kibby, you agree to this license and usage policy. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use Kibby.
