Kasparov also felt it illogical that the Romans and the Greeks living under the banner of Byzantium could fail to use the mounds of scientific knowledge left them by Ancient Greece and Rome, especially when it was of urgent military use.

Many such cases; a whole lot of my-hero 's culty fandom is freeze-gamer that believe that landing a publicly-funded private bazinga rocket on Mars is some sort of "science victory" that makes humanity's credits roll and waves hands wildly wins the game somehow and that nothing matters except that performative moment.
