Someone not posting on X is surely not enough to qualify as tech news. Come on…
They still post, they just don't buy ad space. The actual news is: More and more advertisers jump ship (IBM did, too), because they don't want to get in trouble financing unhinged extremist bullshit.
Notably, however, the EU Commission is on Mastodon. Would be great if a lot of the companies suspending their ads would also move over to Mastodon even if not fully.

They don't want the possible negative backlash of being associated with unhinged extremist bullshit. If unhinged extremist bullshit was popular enough to be profitable then they'd be all aboard. Corporations do whatever is profitable.
Fair enough, I still find it hard to see how it fits this comm, but it is a bit better in that context.

I wished for the bare minimum of decency, and Elon the Nazi sympathizer failed to deliver. If I wanted a social network full of right-wing nutjobs, I would have just signed up with Truth or Gab. Maybe you'd be more comfortable there, though.
I'm pretty sure it's the nazi propaganda that's annoying. Poor Elmo though, all alone with his drugs and his white power and his billions of dollars and international governmental tie-ins. Dadgum hippies just like hatin' on him to be "cool" and "hip".
It's frequent enough that I still see a lot of posts despite having filters for "Musk", and "Elon Musk" and "Twitter". I figured I probably can't block "X" without blocking a lot of unrelated posts since it's just a letter in the alphabet. I wonder if that was intentional.
I mean, you can simply ban the URL. Hell I blocked all .ru sites on little snitch.
I don't want to block things people post on Twitter about subjects of interest, I just don't want my feed constantly flooded with news about Twitter.
