Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Not everywhere, Joe, not everywhere. Texas is still well and truly red, much to the chagrin of sane folks everywhere and despite those same folks voting blue wherever possible.
Maybe if voters got off their ass in Texas and participated, you'd see some change. 55% of the registered voters didn't vote in '22. That was after they fucking froze or baked to death because the power grid is fucked.
Man, I tried so hard to convince folks to vote. Gave everybody links to register, a voting guide, and where they could vote. I tried.
Great work! If you can, please keep helping. You're doing the right thing. Thank you.
Thanks. Just trying to do what I can to save my home state.
Turnout in 2020 was 67%:

The margin of victory (in Texas) was actually quite narrow when you consider how many didn't vote. I'm guessing among the non-participants was at least 1 mil liberals that thought Biden had no chance of winning. This was one of the closest races since 1992 (but that was mainly because of Ross Perot).
Non-voters aren't really 'non-voters'. They're just voting for "I'll have what they're having".
I couldn't imagine throwing away your only voice just to get what you don't want.
Edit: Looks like non-voters only vote when it doesn't count. lol
Hey now, let's not get political here!
...proceeds to move polling booth on the other side of the county, and open only for an hour.
Yeah but muh freedom
I've never understood places like Texas or Alberta that always vote the same out of some sort of team like mentality.
Why would any party, even the one you support, offer you anything if they don't risk losing your votes? The other party has nothing to gain by helping you, and your party has nothing to lose by ignoring you.
Democracy needs to be adversarial where the parties in power constantly fear you'll flip on them and throw them to the wolves.
“I’m a republican, and this guy has an R next to his name. That means we’re on the same team!”
Pretty sure that's precisely why the parties push wedge issues.
