I've had two people show me their pre order and watched them both visibly deflate when I said "Oh hey it's the Halo car."

Without any of the offroad capability (what am i kidding, these people are scared of gravel, nevermind mud and dirt).

I had a teammate see one in our parking lots and he said "this is one of the benefits of working in Silicon Valley, we get to see cool cutting edge technology like this all the time"

Wow I’m tired, time to pay $10 for a scoop of ice cream before I go home

But an AI robot will scoop the ice cream automatically!!! Isn't it great how they don't even have to confront how much of their lifestyle is built off the backs of highly exploited low wage labor, even domestically?

I saw a coffee truck where the coffee was prepared by a robotic arm, but there was still a guy in the truck operating it. I was like, can't he just pour it??? Where does the robot come in???

I saw a video of a robotic bartender in Vegas. It was a table-size machine that would mix a cocktail off a select menu for you. Did it more slowly and clumsily than even the most novice human bartender, less selection than a human, unable to deviate from its recipe (hope you don't like your martini extra dry), and more expensive cocktail in the end.

who is asking for this shit

edit ESPECIALLY in a bartender, like half your job is to be a shoulder for your drunken patrons to cry on, or a charming personality to make them forget their troubles

cool cutting edge technology

yeah, of those panels as they gain lift when the car is at speed and decapitate (hopefully) the driver

It's not cool and the cutting edge is jagged and lined with toxic residues. I fucking hate it here and will be glad to leave in a few weeks.

take me with you wtf, don't leave me like this

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago

I kind of wish I could; the entire area is stupidly expensive even on its outskirts in a way that makes moving out next to impossible unless you have some real estate to offload to someone that will actually pay more for it than you did in the first place. It's like a big antlion trap.

"Look at how divorced that guy is" sicko-peepin
