I'm not really sure why Russian popular opinion is relevant in this case.

Also, "Surveying public opinion in Russia is complicated, with the Kremlin's war propaganda and fierce repression of anti-war sentiment obscuring the real picture."

Yeah, I feel like any kind of poll that comes out of Russia right now is kinda meaningless.

On top of that, what do you think russians will answer when the "moscow-based levada center" asks them if they would not support Putin if X happens...

Yeah no shit is it "complicated". The question is mostly if you want to support the war in a vague and indirect sense, or if you prefer supporting the war directly from a penal battalion.
