I hope Lemmy won't become far right or far left platform
I hope people will not make the mistake of seeing far left and far right as even remotely comparable...
It will probably lean towards far left, of course it will depend on instance, but popular instances could go far left yeah
I am not so familiar with the terms left and right, left means Republic or Democrats?? only hope Lemmy will be a neutral ground I can browse

I only allow one single party in my country, that why /sThis post might be a joke, but I feel compelled to answer either way.
The terms left and right heavily depend on the country, because those terms are relative. While in the USA democrats might be left of the republicans, the democrats would be considered mid-right in Germany, because there parties that are left relative to them. This might even be more extreme in countries like Norway or Iceland.
On the other hand there republicans could be thought of as mid-right in other countries, but I tend to avoid going there.

But non the less, thank you for your hint, and I mean that without sarcasm.
Also, the party names are basically meaningless. In the US, Democrats (party) and liberals (idea) are left wing. Nothing to do with Liberals, Democrats, or Liberal Democrats in any other countries, some of which are right-wing.
Inevitably, there will be instances throughout the left / right spectrum, and honestly I think that's the beauty of federated platforms.
There are some clues on this based on recent discussions about defederation. Lemmygrad is almost universally banned as soon as an instance spins up, so far left is unlikely. The recent conversations about exploding heads are a bit less clear. Some instance operators, including a few big ones, are clearly sympathetic to the far right. But many did reluctantly ban them.
The exact viewpoints of your Lemmy experience will vary based on your home instance. If you want far left, you can have it. Same for far right. Both of these will likely remain small sections of the fediverse. You can also have a very unfiltered view (no banned instances), or a very filtered view (e.g. Beehaw).
I think the common experience, such as a Lemmy.World user will experience, will at least have some limits on how far it leans in either direction. Not because of politics per se, but once you go extreme, it tends to be full of awful people that no one wants to deal with.
Same here. Hopefully, the fediverse as a whole doesn't turn into basically communists and fascists.
