The two leaders met in Beijing ahead of an international forum on one of Chinese President Xi Jinping's signature policies.

[Not to nitpick, but the article says that Viktor Orban is the first leader of a European Union nation to meet in person with the Putin since the beginning of the war in Ukraine in February 2022. That is not accurate ad Austria's chancellor met Putin in April 2022.]

While it’s not exactly accurate that it’s the first meeting of an european leader (I think macron was also there right after the invasion), it’s certainly the most casual yet. You can just hope the EU puts a stop to this before the next wannabe dictator in Europe gets elected and the spiel starts all over again.
