Come to think of it, an American version of that poem would be like 400 lines long.
You can't really make an american version because it would be like "they suddenly and simultaneously came for a fuck ton of us and we were all across the world so we couldn't really organize until well after they already had us and were making us compete."

She's just basing it on when it became a thing in white liberal circles to support them, so for her defending immigrants only became a thing in 2016 and black lives only started to matter in 2020
