Project Gorgon isn't Isometric but there are no classes. Any character can level up in any skill by using it. It's still early access and the graphics are not great, but the mechanics and lore are pretty good.
I looked it up. I'm intrigued. A minimal handholding, no rails MMO created by two people? I'll give it a go!
It has free demo which lets you level up any skills to a cap of I think 15. You can't trade or pick up items from the ground, but otherwise you have the full game available to you.
Yeah, I played a little bit earlier today. I'd like to say that the dated looking graphics and poor ui aren't things I care about, but apparently I do a bit. Still, I'll give it a little more time. I do like the premise.
Yeah, I had similar thoughts when I started: "Oof, this looks dated." Gameplay is solid once you get used to the UI, and how can you not love a game where you can use Psychology as a combat skill with abilities named "Tell me about your mother" and "You were adopted"?
