F-Zero GX in HD with wide screen support would be amazing. It might even happen since F-Zero 99 seems to be pretty popular.
Beat me to it with F-Zero. What a game.
Put that shit in VR!
For what it's worth, you can play Dolphin in VR. Use the 3D tv setting, it's already in widescreen thanks to a hack.
The only catch is that you need to play with a controller.
Yeah there are a lot of games with "VR" ports or mods that allow for a headset while playing. I feel like if they're not fully immersive, they don't cut it. Now if the game supports a steering wheel, petals etc that's different. But in general, I should be able to use standard VR controllers or hand tracking.
Would be nice but I don't think that it's going to be a reality. That said, FZero on dolphin could be mapped to a wheel and played well in VR, it would just take some tweaking of the thresholds and tolerances.
If Nintendo actually made a VR system, it would probably be the first system of theirs since the GameCube that didn't disappoint me. I miss the days when they actually cared about releasing high-performance consoles with the latest in graphics tech.
Even if Nintendo released a VR headset I doubt it would have the latest graphics tech. It would likely be similar to Quest but with it's own walled garden. I would love to see that competition in the VR space though. Hi-Tech or not, Nintendo always delivers quality games.
