I personally hate rounded corners and shadows added everywhere. Makes most things look crappy and smudged.

It's a bit of dilemma because intuitive means different things to different users. In fact research showed that skeuomorphism is reintroduced for new modalities and then discarded after users get used to it.

That's interesting. The flaw with that logic seems to that there'll always be new users, and they'll be playing on hard mode since those vital clues have been removed.
