So basically what's on the monitor isn't even safe anymore. If I were a security researcher in charge of protecting a high profile client I would feel so discouraged right now...

I would say it's likely that it affects Chromium as a whole, what affects chrome usually also affects chromium as well, and while some modified versions might be unaffected it's likely that most are.
