 you can't assume someone is a Nazi just because they volunteered for the Nazis and served in a Nazi division and views his time under the Nazis as the pinnacle of his life! If you think he's a Nazi just for doing that then you're the real nazi 
Even if you could make the argument that the SS had a lot of conscripts who weren't particularly happy to be there, this dude openly bragged about how his time in the SS was the best time of his life. Also Himmler literally praised this unit for being really good at burning down Polish villages.
