Be sure to wear one as a pedestrian and while driving a car, too. Risk of head injury is actually comparable so all arguments for wearing a helmet apply.

Only we as a society have decided that wearing a helmet during those activities isn't needed but on a bicycle it is.

more people die falling down stairs & hitting their head, than riding a bicycle & hitting their head. A helmet should only be necessary if you're going very fast (road bike, fast e-bike) or off-road (mountainbike). If felt needed by the majority of cyclists in regular urban situation: how the urban environment was built, sucks.
