Short answer; no.
Long answer: If you're really struggling and still quite early, swapping to Samurai isn't a terrible idea, it has a good stat spread and good starting gear. Elden Ring though, like all Soulsborne games, doesn't really put much empthasis on your class. All it is is your starting stats and gear. A couple bosses in, your starting stats won't matter near as much as how you've been leveling, and you can find the gear Samurai starts with in the starting area, if you really want to use a katana. So feel free to do whatever you want/is fun for you, but I wouldn't bother, personally.
Thanks! I'm choosing to stick with warrior.
Something that helped me when I first started, that might help you, is going full blown magic user. Magic is still op and it puts distance between you and the enemy so you have a chance to learn how they act. It also really helps to use spirit ashes, again, so you can learn how to fight. The enemy will focus on them so you can get a chance to learn what to do. Don't let anyone try to tell you it makes the game too easy or you aren't a real souls player or whatever other elitist bullshit they try to feed you. The devs put them in the game. Use them. Once you git gud, then try to play without them.
