It does ! It’s a PC! You can add anything to your Steam library and launch it as a game in gaming mode. You can also install Flex from the discover app!

Anything that supports Linux also supports the Steam Deck. Bonus poinrs if it's available as a Flatpak.

When steam os upgrades, it wipes the installed apps, right?

Not flatpaks. Also there's rwfus if you need to use pacman.

Sure, just trying to point out that by default it takes these actions in order to keep the system as stable as possible. Going against it can leave you in an unusable state.
