the_dunk_tank
It's the dunk tank.
This is where you come to post big-brained hot takes by chuds, libs, or even fellow leftists, and tear them to itty-bitty pieces with precision dunkstrikes.
Rule 1: All posts must include links to the subject matter, and no identifying information should be redacted.
Rule 2: If your source is a reactionary website, please use archive.is instead of linking directly.
Rule 3: No sectarianism.
Rule 4: TERF/SWERFs Not Welcome
Rule 5: No ableism of any kind (that includes stuff like libt*rd)
Rule 6: Do not post fellow hexbears.
Rule 7: Do not individually target other instances' admins or moderators.
Rule 8: The subject of a post cannot be low hanging fruit, that is comments/posts made by a private person that have low amount of upvotes/likes/views. Comments/Posts made on other instances that are accessible from hexbear are an exception to this. Posts that do not meet this requirement can be posted to !shitreactionariessay@lemmygrad.ml
Rule 9: if you post ironic rage bait im going to make a personal visit to your house to make sure you never make this mistake again

If lemmy is anything to go by, the vast majority of americans are still pretty fucking eager to throw money at Ukraine. Also the top grossing movie is fucking Barbie and not the sound of farts.
Well lemmy users don’t seem to be the average kind of people. I’m on lemm.ee, I usually scroll all communities im federated with, and what I see is a more left leaning audience
Didn't that instance completely flip out over seeing content from hexbear?
Idk, I’m new here. And I still see stuff from hexbear
Unless I'm mistaken, a few days ago at least a few users were having a pretty big struggle session about hexbear. Supposedly we are "secretly maga and right wing" or something like that.
What the heck
Some people did, but it's hard to point at most instances, especially a general one like .ee and address it as a unified culture cause it's only existed for like 2 months.
The discussion and resolution about whether to defend from us is a defining moment in the development of their culture, though. As long as we can still post with them, then we know their site as a whole has fallen on the correct side of that discussion.
No discounting the rubes we have both seen posting in the wild though. I just don't think that we can address them as an instance with a fully formed culture yet.
I agree. I do miss the occasional post from /r/conservative with some batshit insane takes.
The lack of variety is dangerous and could make lemmy a one sided platform
That's true, we need two sides to have balanced discussion. Marxist-Leninists on one side and anarchists on the other
the one true centrist
I don't need to see fascist posts on the internet. I get plenty of that just existing in America, thank you very much. It's not "dangerous" to have a place without fascist rhetoric. (Side note, lemmy isn't such a place, although it is better than reddit)
lmfao
Lack of Nazis is a good thing.
There's plenty of beef between libs and lefties, don't worry.
But it’s kinda fun to watch. And sometimes the discussions aren’t complete brawls
between the left and fascists? lol if you think this instance is hard on libs, you should see how we deal with fascists
That's correct. They are executions.
