Lmao @ the "not all landlords are bad" comments.
Not all landlords are bad, but all people under 30 can't afford to live in Canadian citys.
It's almost as if landlordism requires participating in a system of exploitation no matter how "nice" the individual may be
Actual structural and material analysis of how the reproduction of societal roles enforces certain behaviours that 'cohere' class as a social category in the world is alien to these people, I reckon. e.g., "the capitalist is capital personified". The structural pressures on Landlords for their social reproduction is not identical to that of capital ofc, but they still exist, yet when the individual has a sacred role as the ultimate and sole unit of analysis this sort of recognition just passes through the cracks.
Idiots falling for that lazy argument still.
Somewhat like cops, not every individual is an evil, Machiavellian monster harboring Hitlerian-esque notions of governance and law. However, their existence continues to perpetuate a (horrific) status quo, AND NOBODY IS BORN A COP OR LANDLORD.
