Just Don't Get It
!justdontgetit@lemmy.tf is a community for things that you just don't get or understand. It's a community where you're welcome to be the opposite of the smartest in the room. Ask questions about things of which have perplex for years like "why was seeing a pig run a consolation?" or "why don't we shoo our space in to the sun?" and for those of you not comfortable with asking questions, even those like "why is going to bed with your socks on even though you have a spouse a thing?", you're welcome to be part of this community too and answer questions. The only thing I ask is that you be and not a condescending prick.
I originally said "You're free to post text posts, screenshots or memes." but it seems to be mostly text. Feel free to change that with your posts.

Recycling earth-bound trash is significantly cheaper and better for everyone than launching it into space.
The energy required to send derelict satellites into the sun is far more than they would carry as on-board fuel if they even work anymore. It would be better to de-orbit them into our own atmosphere. Even with the advent of reusable rocket stages, launching rockets into GEO is still not cheap and I'm not sure re-usable rockets have the lifting capacity for a tug since it would carry a lot of extra fuel to perform multiple rendezvous and de-orbit.
It's just kinda not viable, but also a dumb idea because you should recycle. We should strive to adapt our lifestyles to become sustainable, not launch our excess into space.
We should recycle and decompose everything on Earth and anything that can't be recycled or decomposed, shouldn't be made, that goes without saying... But this is about the space debris, the satellites, the nuts and bolts, the broken parts of space stations, the old space stations and I'm not suggesting we fly them, hence talking about sling shots, I'm talking about pushing them and letting the applied force carry it all to the sun.
The energy required to shoot something into the sun from our orbit is immense, it does not matter how you apply that energy.
Well since it’s so easy then just go do it! I take it you’ve never taken a physics class before
Please consider me stupid on this whole subject. I'm here to learn
