I thought his company was supposed to move astronauts to the ISS for the next 5 years? Is this to get out of a contract his company can't fulfill?
He'll just ask to be compensated for early contract termination.
Pretty much. Over the last couple of weeks he's stolen all the money he would have got from the government as part of that contract. So now he wants to bail on the obligation part.
money not spent on him (like his mars bullshit) is 'wasted' money. being an iss taxi is only some of that.
