Prism launcher is great for modded Minecraft on the Steamdeck. Combine that with a tailscale connection and you can have a shared world with a friend from however far away for free. 10/10 would recommend.
Do we have to own a Minecraft copy to play in Prism Launcher?
Unfortunately. Idk if you can 🏴☠️ that or not and have it work. I just used the legit copy I got when I was like 16. Once you have prism launcher linked to your account associated with Minecraft, you can just download modpacks straight from the launcher. If you're gonna play handheld like on a non-docked Steamdeck, you'll need to add a mod for controller support
