A lot of Turks have been basically fed the lie that criticising your country is akin to betraying it
So, when it's criticized even if it's honest, you're attacked. Even left wing people who are quite literally communist have this nationalistic sentiment, where the fuck does it come from? Even I feel it actually, it's actually so fucking insane. But recently I started to just feel different, maybe I just broke the mold but my catch phrase has become 'I rather die European than a Turk' and I'll probably make this catchphrase of mine come true
It shouldn't be a bad thing to talk bad about your own nation, especially when you want to improve it, but even the left wing can't accept this and rather built on lies and blame a single person than the system underneath, they use the words of our founder which got immortalised as a political manuever by the right wing to keep a broken system intact
If Atatürk was alive he would curse everyone out, how dare they treat him as if he was a greater than human? How dare they make turkey lesser than even it's neighbours even though he made it clear that he wished it to aim upwards and come further into relations with Europe
One of the faster growing economies, as much potential as Brazil or Argentina, but like them it was squandered
I got lots of bad fucking blood because it's been thirty years of the same failures, it barely has changed
I would be economically fucked too if i wasn't from a richer family, owning land is a rarity
How very American of them
