This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.

Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.

Rules

Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.

Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.

Mod Visigoth_860@lemmy.cafe posted a really creepy and pro-pedophilia post at https://lemmy.cafe/post/11105990

Mod immediately bans the two people that call it out as trolls.

Update: post is locked after two more bans

Yah that post is gross. I'd remove it.

There's your reason why.

The pedo holds the reins.

Block the community, block the user, move on.

Should probably report this stuff to their instance admins. That way it disappears completely, that's a better solution than pretending things don't exist, especially when it comes to shit like this where the person is a pedophile.

I'd also suggest letting your local instance admins know about it since once they know they can ban the user with content removal which will wipe out he community on those instances as well.

Yeah, quite aware that's the mod and thought I said as much. Should I reword it to make it clearer that both the mods I refer to are the same?

You can DM the instance admins and report directly. I've had to do that for a single-moderator community before, where the mod could operate with relative impunity.

Whoops I read too quickly is all. Need more coffee, clearly.
