If Musk becomes Speaker of the House ... couldn't he ? Speaker Johnson offered him the job. The speaker doesn't need to be a congress member.

And the speaker is in line to be president if Trump and Vance "happen" to die.
I mean Trump is obsessed with ignoring the Constitution to stay president until he dies. Why wouldn't that be used against him by Musk ?
Not constitutionally no. He doesn't meet the requirement to be president which requires you to be born as a US citizen
Edit: also it seems like Johnson was moreso making a jab at musk in his comments about the difficulty of the job - rather than actually making him a genuine offer
The SC could just make a bullshit ruling that this only applies fo4 being elected president, rather than becoming president through succession.
I am aware of the born a US citizen requirement. Trump is also trying to get rid of naturalized citizenship.
But these guys are not big on rule following.
No, he's trying to get rid of birthright citizenship.
If musk becomes speaker, Trump and Vance should start to worry.
Trump will be 25a'd out of there very fast. Just you wait
Succession only applies to people eligible to hold the office. So him being Speaker would be irrelevant. He'd just be skipped.
