I haven't been asked to give any weird permissions, I just needed an email address and password to sign up. I never used twitter or anything similar other than instagram but I gotta say I'm not too excited about bluesky so far. I signed up when I found out Elon was mad because people were leaving twitter for bluesky. I enjoy seeing Mark Hamill's and George Takei's posts, and the most recent JWST pics are awesome, but overall I'm not a big fan. Maybe the way I set it up is suboptimal? Idk, I probably already have enough things sucking away my time and attention.
