The owner class and their government muppets are flexing right now as if they want to inflame tensions.

Or are they not reading the room?

[–] Karyoplasma@discuss.tchncs.de 112 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

They have learned over decades that they can do whatever the fuck they please. They don't need to read the room, nothing is gonna happen to them anyway. Also, the public just voted their mascot into the White House for 4 years despite 34 convictions, so they are truly invincible and they know.

Ha, 4 years, yeah right. He is going to refuse to leave office

[–] Norin@lemmy.world 39 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

If he lives that long.

Despite all the shitty AI pictures of him with abs, the guy is still old as fuck and in terrible health.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 18 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

His children aren't tho and I've got a bad feeling this is going to be the start of some twisted fucked up monarchy.

[–] Norin@lemmy.world 20 points 2 weeks ago

I have no doubt they’d try.

But, other people in his party will try to fill the void too, and none of them or his kids have the horrid charisma that he does.

[–] Jumpingspiderman@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

He's going to emulate the various Kims of North Korea.

[–] Karyoplasma@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 2 weeks ago

Well, officially 4 years anyway lol

[–] tisktisk@piefed.social -1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It was a bit of a struggle getting him out last time, wasn't it?
I think we should compromise, let him stay but force an agreement that he's not allowed back in once out.

[–] ReCursing@lemmings.world 14 points 2 weeks ago

Let him stay in prison

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Obviously not or they wouldn't be trying so hard to spin the story.

[–] UsernameHere@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Spinning the story is how they’ve gotten away with everything.

[–] frostysauce@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

they are truly invincible and they know

Tell that to the dead one.

[–] Zirconium@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Over decades, more like since before the constitution was written. Shays' rebellion and probably years before that.

Meanwhile, the Internet be like...

[–] granolabar@kbin.melroy.org 23 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

The internet would never condone targeted violence as that is a violation of ToS, sir, but we also don't have to have any sympathy for Brian "the Parasite" Thompson.

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 15 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

All I am saying is that if you see a dog snarling, don't poke it with a stick. It seems ... ill advised.

[–] granolabar@kbin.melroy.org 8 points 2 weeks ago

Sir, the elites are literally bringing out the sticks for since these dog appearing to be losing their obedience...

A few years back during COVID some dude got to TV to tell us how a hungry dog is obedient dog. We just accepted it and I died a bit on the inside then.

But I am proud to be an American again now, at least where we known dead CEOs is a thing!

[–] CileTheSane@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 weeks ago

I have sympathy, it's just that Brian Thompson is outside of my network.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

They're engaging in displays of power. They think that works because it does until it doesn't

I, uh... I don't think they can read.
