I held off on Windows 10 for as long as I could until my job required it. Now this nonsense. I hope this isn't the start of them joining on the web DRM bandwagon.

GIMP is very useful but I will fight you on that.

There are other free and paid (non-subscription) solutions that are better at everything Photoshop does though.

Pro retoucher here. What would you recommend? I've tried to switch to Affinity a few times but not tried anything else.

I like affinity and pixelmator. I edit photos with RAWPower.
