In short, yes. American politics is amazingly straightforward once you know how to look at it.

My original prediction back in 2015 was that Trump was going to win 2024 unless the Dem incumbent dropped out of the race. I put it down as a longshot even before I knew Biden would be that incumbent, and I still don't know how Pelosi managed to convince him, but it happened and now we seem to be on course for the good future after all. Watch for the Republican party to start tearing itself apart as the establishment faction attempts to wrest control back from Trumps loyalists, leaving the Democrats to be the only right-wing party as a new left party forms out of the growing Union movement.
