Wasn't he an aikido "martial artist"? Like the "least martial" martial art?
I was going to just call it straight up "fake," but this redditor actually wrote some pretty good stuff about it.
I'm giving young Seagal the benefit of the doubt because the vibe I get from him in that era is that he still cared, although I admit I honestly have no idea and maybe he was grifting all along.
