In fact, borderline human rights compromise is actually a good incentive for people to leave. Would perhaps be good for the country if those in Texas who respect human rights would move from Texas to Pennsylvania for a human rights upgrade (where also the death penalty was repealed).
But I doubt your statement is accurate considering inbound refugees are fleeing from even worse conditions w.r.t. human rights. Refugees still technically have their human right to access emergency medical treatment, they just risk getting harassed and tagged for deportation.
Yeah, maybe we can send a few dozen to Martha's Vineyard again, or start another emergency in New York! It was funny how few it took the last time. It's not like lefties understand how bad illegals are until they actually have to deal with the consequences
Literally no one thinks all the states shouldn't bear the load of refugees equally. The "emergency" was the Texas government lying to people about what they were doing on the bus and secretively transporting them specific places to create political theater. If the Texas government said "hey y'all, we have a lot of refugees coming in. We're going to be sending 3 bus loads/week to NYC, and a bus load will arrive to Martha's Vineyard in 2 days," you do realize none of this would've been in the news at all
Illegal immigrants arrive secretly. That's part of why they're so damaging, you can't prepare for them.
Well asylum seekers aren't illegal immigrants, to be clear, but once Texas knows about them, you fucking can prepare for them, dumbass. My entire point was that the Texas government purposefully lied and withheld information to create political theater in other jurisdictions that were more than willing to help and coordinate a shared response
We were talking about illegals. Not asylum seekers.
You were talking about the asylum seekers Texas sent to Martha's Vineyard and NYC after lying to them and withholding information from the receiving jurisdictions for the purpose of creating political theater
Just because they claim asylum when they get caught doesn't mean jack shit. They don't magically stop being illegal immigrants, and frankly, I think it should result in their claim being denied
Asylum is a legal process. If they follow that process (which begins with claiming asylum), then of course they cease to be illegal immigrants throughout the process.
I should also add that some people come for asylum but they do not follow the legal process because they are reasonably concerned that the process will fail to protect them (especially if they entered under the Trump regime). If someone enters without filing then gets targeted (e.g. a hospital rats them out), and only then claim asylum, I don’t know what happens but obviously we need the process is competent about separating the genuine cases from the rest. I suppose that’s the scenario you are referring to.
My man, people coming across the border to claim asylum intentionally turn themselves in. You fantasize about USCBP "hunting down illegals" when in reality 90% of their job is serving as taxis for people who are intentionally trying to be found
