Yeah I'm perfectly fine with not being on the same side as people openly embracing Dick Cheney and weird people can't figure out how being active in genocide is bad.

"I'm not going to support Dick Cheney, so I'm going to help the guy even Dick Cheney thinks takes things too far."

And disingenuous people "can't figure out" how not stopping the current weapons sales is still better than giving Israel even more and better weapons and telling them to wipe the place out.

Imagine caring about the opinion of Dick Cheney couldn't be me. If you want to ally with right-wingers and then gift right-wing policy with (D) next to it on immigration, have it. Let that crowd get you across the finish line. Plus my state is going to Trump automatically anyway.

Hang on, you literally said:

Yeah I’m perfectly fine with not being on the same side as people openly embracing Dick Cheney

You started this with caring about the opinion of Dick Cheney. Not supporting someone just because Dick Cheney supported them is still letting Dick Cheney dictate your politics.

If you want to ally with right-wingers

So if Democrats are Right-wingers what are Republicans? "If you want to support Right-wingers have at it, I am instead going to support the even further right!"

Dems have shifted right and they are center right. There is no real left with power in this country. So I'm not going to vote for diet right-wingers. Unless Harris suddenly says she is changing course on genocide and walks back the endorsements of Dick Cheney.

No disagreement here

So I’m not going to vote for diet right-wingers.

So given: "There is no real left with power in this country"
The outcome of the November election will be "Diet right-wing" or "Extreme right-wing".
For someone who is so anti-right-wing I am surprised at your unwillingness to do anything to prevent the extreme right wing from gaining power.

Do I wish the Democrats and Harris would do better? Absolutely. Do I think Republicans and Trump will do so much worse? Absolutely.

There is a trolley going down a track with 5 people tied to it. There's a lever that will slow the trolley down so it only runs over 2 people.
You: "I refuse to pull the level because that would be participating in the situation. If I do nothing more people will die but I can sleep happy knowing I didn't make that happen. I just did nothing to mitigate the damage."

Plus my state is going to Trump automatically anyway.

If "did not vote" was a candidate they would have won the 2020 election: https://www.cnn.com/election/2020/results/president

In the majority of Republican states if you could convince non-voters to vote for Democrats the Democrats could win the state. This is far more plausible than getting the momentum for a 3rd party candidate to win at this late stage in the election.

It isn't my job to do that. Dems choose to align their selves to fascists and only position themselves as "At least were not Trump." The state isn't going to flip because I threw my morals away for a person active in genocide. Get all that ex Regan staff to do it.

[–] CileTheSane@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

And the state isn't going to flip because you threw all you energy towards encouraging people not to vote at all, which would result in a far worse outcome for everyone.

[–] Suavevillain@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

People can vote for who they want. It isn't my fault Dems basically abandoned my state. If Harris can go earn GOP support. Then she can do the same for non-blue no matter who people. Voting is transactional.
