My first introduction to the RCP was wandering into their book store in Harlem and chatting with the people working there.
They said they were communists so I asked them about their positions and they straight up refused to tell me. Just kept saying to read Bob Avakian's book. Very weird vibe
That store actually has some good books in it. Like... better selection than many anarchist bookstores I've been to. It just has very prominent Avakian displays in the front and cagey weirdos like you mention.
