If it's not indiscrete to ask. Did the beard go with the hormones or is there still the need for you to shave? (If it indeed is to indiscrete to be answered, then please just ignore the question. ๐)
i think that's what this comm is all about!
My beard continues to grow although the rate of growth slowed a bit. It is the only thing that really gives me dysphoria.
On the daily i shave it, on the weekly i zap it with IPL to make it grow even slower/thinner.
In the near term i'm looking into epilating the parts that are safe to.
In the long term i intend to get electrolysis which is how you permanently (i think) stop the facial hair growth!
It might be the communities main purpose, but even then different people might experience the same thing with different levels of (dis-)comfort. Therefore my careful question. ๐ Thank you very much for the copious response!
your care is appreciated :) you're welcome!
Not OP or trans myself but my cousin transitioned and from what I remeber she mentioned that she would need to shave and even set up laser hair removal sessions
Thanks! ๐
Not the OP, but I am transfem myself. No unfortunately beard doesn't go away with hormones. It grows slightly more slowly and the hairs are finer, but it's still there. I haven't had laser or electrolysis to remove the hairs permanently so I still have to shave. I hate it so much, I wish my beard would just go away ๐ญ
Sorry to hear, that it generates that much discomfort, not only to you. ๐ข
Hormones don't stop beard growth.
Wasn't sure about that. Thanks for the answer!
