Some things never change ๐Ÿ˜‚ (I know this is not sync's problem).

[โ€“] sgtlighttree@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

That's kinda confusing for me tho, I mean can still load posts fine and comment and upvote...

I recently switched instances due to this.

[โ€“] aircooledJenkins@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (3 children)

To switch, you make a new account, right? Cannot change your instance once a username is made?

[โ€“] FunkyMonkey@feddit.de 3 points 1 year ago

Your username is made on instances. So yeah, you can't just switch. However you could just recreate the username on a different instance though.

[โ€“] blackbarn@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

Correct, a new account since accounts are tied to the instance. It's not a great experience at the moment but I suppose part of the trade-off for now with the fediverse. Maybe a tool or something native will be made later to help the use case.

You have to have a separate account for each instance. That's how Lemmy and other federated sites work. That's the whole point.
