Basically, America decided to stop protecting internation shipping for free, and instead we sent our ships to the Middle East to defend Israel for free
Which I don't agree with, but considering the Houthies stated goal was force a ceasefire in Israel (which I wish my country was really working towards) it's hard to claim they "won".
It's a classic example of "won the battle but lost the war".
Houthis isn't accomplishing their goal of a ceasefire, but they are succeeding in attacking civilian merchant shipping vessels, which really ain't that impressive.
