Who is that woman on the right? Are we supposed to recognize her or something?

Canonically hell is a democracy and heaven an absolute monarchy, so the art kind of checks out.

I don't think anybody voted for Satan. The Bible doesn't go into the politics of Hell lol

But didn't hell separate from heaven to avoid paying taxes?

I don’t think anybody voted for Satan.

They literally did, though. The War in Heaven that predates the Creation myth is supposed to be of an angelic rebellion, lead by an upstart Lucifer. All the rebel angels at his back choose to be there.

That sounds more like a polycule than a democracy.

I read somewhere that former Haitian dictator François Duvalier made a coup in hell and became the new Satan.

I think, canonically, Hell isn't real.

[–] Zron@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I think you don’t know what canonically means

Are we talking about the canon of the Bible? Hell as we commonly envision and as it's used in this thread doesn't exist in the Bible.

[–] Illuminostro@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

It was inserted by Paul. It's Tartarus from Greek mythology. He needed a weapon to keep the flock in line.

Oh, you're one of those weirdos that insists the Jewish fanfiction universes are official?

Cringe.

I'll admit I'm partial to the B20 Mormon setting because you get your own planet when you hit max level. But no need to be a hater, just because someone's into the vintage stuff.

Need ain't got nothing to do with it, I do it for the love of the game.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

I think hell is canonically a principality
