Maybe if they are making their own. Such cords sold at retail will either have the power leads disconnected, or a chip like USB C uses to only connect power as negotiated between the devices.

Some cheapo and janky USB devices use the USB-A to USB-A cables, without the power disconnected.

I have a cheap USB to IDE adapter from Aliexpress that uses one of those. The fun part is that you can’t ever replace the cable because they should not be made and no reputable brand will ever sell one.

I've found those. At a local store in Baghdad. Never seen such make it to Best Buy, Target, or even Radio Shack. Might as well buy a USB Killer from AliExpress and skip the "double-ended" non-sense.
