Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

Some time ago someone here posted a video from an unknown art youtuber and I just want whomever posted that video to know that I've been watching him ever since, and I think you should too.

Like holy shit, I told everyone who asked that Trump would probably win, and I spent 0 minutes looking into the issue. Imagine this is your main job, you're a grown ass adult, and you're still doing idealism so hard.

The worst poster in the news megathread is 10x smarter than lib influencers.

In the Korean War season of Blowback, they played some clips from this documentary covering the POW internment camps run by the North Koreans.

It's really funny to listen to Ronald Reagan describe the camps as these insidious devices of brainwashing. Descriptions that include things like, there is no fence or barbed wire. When someone does a bad thing, they make them write an essay saying they won't do it again, or having the soldiers stand up and perform acts of public self-critique.

All of this as a means to push the idea that the Communists were attempting to create what was effectively a Manchurian Candidate. Meanwhile, the United States had begun its own research into psychological warfare as well as psychological control.

I haven't watched this video yet, it's only 29 minutes long, but I intend to watch it at some point. And I wanted to post it here for others to view as well.

Update:

Issac Levy died at age 69 in January 2005. His body was transferred by the Red Cross from Afghanistan to Israel (where he has family members) for burial.

Zebulon Siman-Tov, 65, left Afghanistan in 2021 after the Taliban takeover, saying that he fears for his life and immigrated to the US. He formally divorced his ex-wife after years of being separated but still legally married.

Why did the two fight? Each claimed ownership to a Torah scroll in the last synagogue of Afghanistan at the time. They complained to the Taliban authorities, who decided to imprison both. During their imprisonment, the synagogue was robbed and the Torah scroll was stolen. The Taliban got so tired of their fighting that they threw them out of jail.
