Patty and Charlie Brown are walking. He says,"I dreamed about you last night..."

They stop and she asks,"Did you, Charlie Brown? Was it a nice dream?"

They sit on the curb and he replies,"I'm not sure..."

He concludes,"I slept through most of it!

Transcript:

Shermy and Charlie Brown struggle to stand on the ice in their skates. Shermy says,"Watch it!"

Shermy says,"Oops!" as he starts to fall. A shaky Charlie Brown says,"Careful!"

He falls down next to a fallen Shermy.

He sits up and says to a kneeling Shermy, "Let's jump over barrels!"

Shermy and Patty sit on the floor playing. He says,"Somebody's at the door"

She walks off saying,"I wonder who it can be?"

She opens the door and sees Charlie Brown. She says,"Oh, it's you, Charlie Brown..."

He looks at the reader as she walks off saying,"I thought it was somebody important!"

The gag is recycled from the Li'l Folks strip of December 24, 1947:

The latter looks up at him and says,"I'm glad that dogs can't read..."

He resumes writing and concludes,"A diary is a very personal thing"

Snoopy walks off smiling.

He replies,"Real beauty lies within!" She snaps,"That's not what I asked you!"

He continues,"A fair face will wither, but a good heart is the sun and the moon!"

As she chases him, he runs, laughs, and says,"I did my best!"

Patty sits on the floor reading. She looks up puzzled as a voice calls,"Hey!! Somebody call this dog!"

She turns in the direction of the voice as it continues,"Call him, I tell you! Call him!!"

She walks towards the voice as it continues,"Somebody call this dog!"

She stops by Charlie Brown where Snoopy is sitting on his tie. Charlie Brown asks,"Why don't you call him?"

Patty and Shermy stand nearby watching Charlie Brown cry. Shermy says,"Charlie Brown's been crying all day"

She says,"Maybe he's maladjusted" He asks,"Do you think it could be his environment?"

She replies,"Maybe he's frustrated or inhibited..." He walks off saying,"I'll ask him"

He comes back and says,"His shoes are too tight!"

He stands up and says,"Swell! I can see us now racing through the snow"

They run off and he continues,"Laughing! Singing! Boy, I can hardly wait!"

As he pulls Patty along on the sleigh, he says,"This didn't turn out the way I expected!"

He looks down at his coat as she points at it and says,"Shake all that snow off first..."

She points to his feet and continues,"And wipe your feet real good"

He walks off saying,"I've changed my mind..it's not worth it!"

He leans forward and whispers to her,"Psst..Patty! See if you can start a filibuster..."
