DUBLIN, N.H. — A tornado touched down in Dublin on Thursday afternoon.

National Weather Service meteorologists confirmed that an EF1 tornado with maximum winds of 90-95 mph caused damage seen in the southwestern New Hampshire town.

Surveyors are also visiting Keene to assess what caused the storm damage seen there. Results of that survey are expected by Friday evening.

A National Weather Service spotter saw a tornado on the ground near Roxbury and Keene just before 3 p.m. Thursday while a tornado warning was in effect in that area.

The severe storm caused significant damage near the Dublin School, uprooting trees near the institution's tennis courts and left a building tipped on its side.

“I noticed the horizon line looked totally different. Tons of these big trees, oaks and maples, were gone,” Chris Anderson said.

After the storm, one boat at the school was found damaged about 200 feet away into the woods.

The storm also did damage to a solar array for the school. Anderson has worked in solar for 20 years.

Hopefully we can get a governor that works more for the people than for businesses.

Don't let this end up like the reddit subreddit.

Something fun from the subreddit was hearing recommendations from the people of NH about interesting things to check out. So here's a thread to kick that off in a broad way.

Name something you think is essential for someone to visit if they want to consider themselves a good citizen of NH.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for most of the state, and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services is expecting unhealthy air quality for sensitive groups along the Seacoast on Thursday.

The heat advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday for Belknap, Cheshire, Hillsborough, Rockingham, Merrimack, Carroll, Grafton, Strafford and Sullivan counties.

I don't know if anyone has looked but currently the sole mod is also a mod on way too many communities and isn't present at all. It'd be cool to have someone NH based.
