If you see someone embracing fascism up to the point they are committing a genocide and demonizing people who immigrate, that is NOT an ally. They will absolutely throw us and our well-being under the bus without the slightest hesitation.

Please, PLEASE let this be enough warning. He will not change course out of the goodness of his heart, because there is no goodness there. This is a man whose actions and beliefs make Jeffrey Dahmer look like Mary Fucking Poppins.

  1. "Liberty Hub is telling people not to vote!"

There are zero posts here telling people not to vote.

We have however had a lot of users come into this community and try to lecture people how to vote. We have always kept up posts explaining why you're voting for Biden, but we're not going to allow people to come here and lecture us on what we "have to" do.

Criticizing a sitting president and pointing out that his committment to harmful and fascist policies is likely to lose him an election is not telling people not to vote. If anything, it's raising the alarm in hopes that he will change course or that we will get a better candidate.

Certainly, there are anarchists here and others who may not vote at all, seeing this as a systemic problem. They are welcome here as well.

Again, if you want to post explaining why you want to vote Biden, go ahead -- just do it in a way that follows the rules. We are here because we believe the system itself is broken. That is a common defining feature of leftists, no matter what our ideology.

  1. "Liberty Hub is full of transphobes!"

I -- I'm not sure what to say about this. If you see a transphobe here, please report them. Any form of transphobia is not acceptable. There is a reason we have a specific rule against transphobes, even though it technically falls under rule 1. This is a safe space for all queer people, including trans people.

  1. "Liberty Hub is trolling its users!"

We really aren't. I know it's a common liberal tactic to try to dehumanize online leftists by calling us "trolls," "bots," and so forth. I've likewise seen a lot of communities where people are being accused of "supporting Trump" when it's clear that they do not. It seems to me that we have far less trolling here than what I see in most communities, because we immediately remove these types of toxic comments as soon as they are reported or that we see them.

If the "trolling" accusation is related to the rule that says "transphobes eat my ass," then I'm afraid you'll have to deal with it because I have no intention of removing that from the sidebar.

I do think it's also important that we explain why certain people are banned since this community has a bit of a different vibe than most communities. The main thing is we don't want this to be overrun with the type of toxicity we see in spaces that allow right-wingers to take over. This is expressly a space for leftists and post-leftists to share content, not for liberals, conservatives, or others to shout over us or demand we explain basic theory on demand. That never goes well.

  1. "LinkOpensChest.wav is rude!"

Yes, and I will try to do better. The admins have reached out to me about this. I will increase the amount of permabans while decreasing the written response I give to individual users. This should help prevent threads from being derailed while addressing the valid concerns about my tone. If you feel you've been unfairly banned or caught in the crossfire, please reach out to a moderator.

Same energy: Liberals lecturing me about how I'm "privileged" and "working against my best interests" for not sucking off the ghouls who brazenly support and conduct the imprisonment and deportation of my actual fucking family members

Saying this to a Palestinian is many layers of fucked. I'm not sure how liberals can live with themselves.

Thousands of Palestinians: Starved, tortured, and murdered

Thousands of migrants: In concentration camps or deported

Multiple states: Passing anti-trans and anti-choice legislation, unchecked

Millions of USAmericans: Dying every year because of lack of healthcare access

Liberal Democrats: LOL Trump has small hands & is orange (also there is a border crisis & whatabout Hamas)

If you confuse criticism of citizens as criticism of the government, you're probably some kind of racist. You can just call out the government and not say it's the fault of the citizens directly.

If you confuse criticism of your government with criticism of yourself as a person, and it's a personal attack, you're a nationalist. If your leader said a bad take where people call it out and you consider it as if you personally said it, maybe stop being a form of parasocial weirdo for a politician who doesn't know your name beyond "dipshit voter who will defend his actions"

You can mock my government, it's not mocking me. You can mock me, it's not mocking my government. You can mock both.

When the person I voted for does a bad thing, I consider it a moral failing on them and a lesson for me to do better research on who I support.

I don't understand why that's such an issue.

Yeah because I'm not going to vote for Orange Dipshit doesn't mean Biden lying and breaking promises is somehow valid and cool and good. Blue MAGA is awesome!

What made them mad:

"Man I'm not happy with Biden winning the nomination. I wish I was Bernie."

"Well we can get Trump out of office and then you can push him to the left."

"Fair enough, a moldy ham sandwich is better than Trump. Biden can string words together so that's possible."

[One presidential election and mid-term later.]

"So Biden hasn't pushed Congress on most of his campaign promises, and he's enabled racist policies Trump wanted to try and win moderates. No abortion, no DREAMers, no minimum wage increases, no queer protection, but they can find time to ban hoodies in Congress. Not to mention ignoring voters who care about Ukraine and Palestine. It feels like Biden isn't great for Americans, he's just slightly better than Trump."

"Why are you so anti-Biden? Are you some kind of fake leftist or a Russian agent pretending to be American?"

"No? I'm trying to push him left. I'm saying he's not doing things for most of the people who voted for him to be better. His biggest actions are done by appointments, by him to the FTC and FCC. Not a lot of bills passed."

"I think you just hate what Democracy is, he's not a king."

"Right. But Republicans can pass without issue, and Democrats want to work with them instead of getting progressive voters."

"You're biased and nitpicking, so I win."
