Hello new Lemmy friends!

Word on the street tells us our community is regularly making it the all page. While this is very cool news to hear, we can see how the sudden emergence of our posts in your feed might feel jarring and probably raises some questions. And also how, without knowing the backstory, our community might appear less than virtuous, so here’s a very brief introduction which hopefully will clear a few things up.

The woman we’re discussing is a body positive influencer and media personality who has gained fame and wealth by lying, manipulating, exploiting her children for content, plagiarizing BIPOC creators and blaming her BIPOC content editor for it (thereby ruining her career), among other things. Her fraudulent behavior is no different (I’d argue worse) from the likes of Jay Shetty (google him if you don’t know who he is or what he did). She’s the latest in a long line of grifting influencers who are abusing their power, taking advantage of their position and exploiting their followers. The difference is that she’s Canadian. Our laws around social media and advertising aren’t as clear (and where they are she’s disobeyed them), add to that, our mainstream media has protected her from those who’ve tried to expose her grift and silenced/intimidated anyone who’s tried to speak out.

Our Reddit sub was taken down due to reports of copyright infringement, which is unfounded and categorically untrue as no one ever tried to steal her work and pass it off as their own. The mods have made an appeal. While at first glance it may seem like we’re just “shitting on her” the sub has been more devoted to investigation and posting proof of her lies than just bitching for the sake of bitching. The reality is that she’s hurt, manipulated and let down a lot of people. She stole intellectual property and employment, caused mental distress and has repeatedly told lies to boost engagement and profit off her audience, so people are understandably upset that their voices are being silenced.

We’re grateful to have been welcomed so kindly by so many of you, and to those sticking around to watch the drama unfold, we’re glad to have you!

I wonder how her mom or Shane feel. Or her kids with exams, she’s insufferable. Always a victim. Always a phoenix rising from the ashes to save all women.

Sarah sent this to herself. She's always lying. When she lies she touches her lips, hair, rubbing her neck, looks away. Why would she say friends (plural)? If she was telling the truth she wouldn't sound rehearsed. She'd say something like, what an idiot, dummy. She over explains. By friends- she means us. This is directed at the snark.

You are so right. Her and Leaky's MO is to sell people out and shame them. If it was truly somebody else who did this, she wouldn't have hidden their profile, so her bot mob could go after them

Her eyes look red and glossy. High? or maybe TBP is worried that this page is getting lots of views and total strangers are now learning about The Birds Papaya and her deceitful ways.

I thought her eyes looked weird in the In & Out Burger shot too I think her friend, Bailey, plays hard.

She looks like a teenager here. Well maybe not THAT young. But young 20s for sure! The filtering is insane

This is the best part for me tbh. She tried SO hard to silence us - first blocking us for liking less than positive comments on social media, then getting the Reddit snark page shut down and now people are talking about her across multiple platforms. Wouldn’t it just be easier to be a good person?

The person who sent this is my hero 🦸🏻‍♂️

So not hot. She has no hotness bc she’s so fake. So insecure. No personality.

[–] Bitchwhiskers@lemmy.ca 8 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

She did not look hot. And isn’t the whole point “who cares” if you look hot?! Just live your life! No one would care about her jiggly bits. There is a much better way to do this than what she’s doing. I hate it!

[–] FraudulentFruit1@lemmy.ca 6 points 5 months ago

Just another lie she tells herself 😂

[–] BirdsaLiar@lemmy.ca 8 points 5 months ago

I love this for her

It’s all about how she looks? I thought we weren’t supposed to comment on that - body neutrality and all that jazz! But, okay, you looked hot! Is that what she wants? She needs to look hot? Why? For whom? Herself?

[–] No_really_why@lemmy.ca 14 points 5 months ago

She’s just baiting for people to validate her looks 🙄🥱

[–] BirdsaLiar@lemmy.ca 10 points 5 months ago

This makes me want to send her stories more often 😏

[–] Amb2023@lemmy.ca 17 points 5 months ago (1 children)

They are probably relived. It has to be exhausting being around her and listening to her have all these conversations with her phone or taking selfies of herself .

[–] Rarepotato@lemmy.ca 17 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I think that’s how I’d feel too. Not having to wonder if walking into a room will put me on her video, or worrying about being posted or asked to post with her, every day they have to be her extra in the fake movie of her life.

[–] crownofgold6@lemmy.ca 7 points 5 months ago

This! They must be so relieved when she’s gone especially when the second she comes home she’s already filming. I’d hate to feel like I always have to be dressed properly or not look like a slob because she’s going to be filming every moment.

[–] Bonjourmadame@lemmy.ca 20 points 5 months ago

She only ever focuses on the negative because that's her inner true feelings . She's fucked

[–] MoonChild@lemmy.ca 18 points 5 months ago

As soon as she got home she had the camera out. Pic of the hug and then video of the little. I guess the poor little girl’s vacation is over - Mommy Dearest is home and it’s time to perform

[–] Blueeyes84@lemmy.ca 17 points 5 months ago

Poor thing 😕 Flopping from one hotel bed to another is exhausting! 🙄

[–] crownofgold6@lemmy.ca 17 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (2 children)

What is she exhausted from? She didn’t even do anything on this trip. She watched a movie and ate a bagel in NYC, then went to LA to take a video in a bikini and visit a couple restaurants. Wow so exhausting, what a life. How do people feel sympathy for this woman?!?!

My fiancé and I drove from Guelph to California the last two weeks and even we haven’t complained about being tired yet that was truly exhausting haha

[–] Rarepotato@lemmy.ca 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)
[–] crownofgold6@lemmy.ca 3 points 5 months ago

Gosh that sounds so exhausting, how does she do it??

[–] lightweight@lemmy.ca 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

How was the drive? We go to California (Disneyland) once or twice a year but always fly. I’d be interested to drive possibly…

[–] crownofgold6@lemmy.ca 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Honestly exhausting (I hate to sound like Sarah lol). We bit off more than we could chew honestly, we crammed too much driving into some of the days (one of the days was 16 hours!!!!) and it was hard to enjoy. We definitely needed more days to cut some of the big long drive days in half. So if you ever do it, make sure you have lots of time so you can spread it out. Haha.

[–] lightweight@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 months ago

🤣 Yeah it’s a little intimidating, I’d love to drive West to BC and then down through Northern California. The flight to LAX exhausts me and we never get up the coast because I’m done travelling by that point 🤣
